Baaltaranginee 2018 features fun educational elements that use technology to capture a child’s attention and teach skills like spelling, counting, listening and the alphabets. Research has proven that a child learns by seeing, touching and hearing. Tablets provide the young learners a means for multisensory instruction which is a way of teaching that engages more than one sense at a time. A teacher thus uses the tablet’s educational contents to help kids learn in an innovative manner.
Contents:
1) Story – Grapes and the Fox
A short-animated story which is entertaining as well as provides good moral values for pupils to learn.
2) Words – Fruits & Vegetables
Pupils will be able to learn the names of Fruits and Vegetables in their respective Oriental Language. This process is carried out through audio – visual games.
3) Numbers
The pupils of Grade 2 will be able to learn numbers 11 – 20 in their respective Oriental Language by means of Interactive games.
4) Body Parts
The pupils will be able to identify the body parts and memorise the respectives names through the drag and drop activity.
How to use:
1. Children are required to follow rules and instructions. They will develop their critical thinking in order to listen attentively and follow the instructions correctly.
2. There are 4 links in the Main Menu to view the page. Pupils will have to click on the buttons in order to move to the next or previous pages or to the Main Menu.
3. Story – To listen to the story parts the pupils have to click on the thumbnails. Upon Clicking, they will see a video with the script accompanied with a voiceover. They are required to click on to the “next” button to listen to the following part.
4. Fruits & Vegetables – This section is an exercise whereby learners are able to develop their visual and listening skills as well as psychomotor learning skills. This exercise comprises of ‘Drag and Drop’, that is, learners must click on the fruit or vegetable and drag it into its corresponding basket.
5. Numbers – The user must arrange the numbers from 1 to 10 using the drag and drop method through memory and speed skills into the appropriate boxes reaching the home icon at the bottom.
6. Body Parts – Different parts of the body must be assembled to complete the activity. This will develop the visual, linguistic and creativity skills of the pupil.
