Activity 8 – I learn: The exclamation mark.
Pixie and her friend Jelena have gone to a dance show. They are fascinated by the
dancers and performances!
Pixie: Look! Wow! The salsa dancers are so lively!
Jelena: I really like their big skirts. I wish I could dance salsa!
Pixie: Me too! Now they have nished, the sega dancers are coming on stage!
Jelena: I enjoy dancing sega but my favourite dance is Bollywood style!
Pixie: That’s great!Mine is ballet!
Did you notice that many of the sentences have an exclamation mark (!) at the end? The
exclamation mark (!) is often used to express strong feelings in a sentence. When we see
an exclamation mark, we say the sentence or word louder and with more feeling.
Activity 8a – Fill in the blanks by correctly adding an exclamation mark, full stop,
